FAB West Africa - Exhibition Manager Statement - December 2024
It’s that time of the year when we reflect on the past 12
months and the year ahead. The Food & Beverage West Africa Exhibition in
June 2024 saw a record number of visitors, including many from neighbouring
countries such as Ghana, Benin, Togo, Senegal, and Cameroon, among others.
The event was a huge success, fostering new partnerships,
business deals, and unparalleled networking opportunities. The exhibition
hosted over 300 exhibitors from around the world and over 5,700 trade
professionals in attendance from across the African continent. It also
facilitated the introduction of new products and partnerships in the West
African market.

Nigeria and other Africa countries spends a staggering $50 billion annually on food imports, a new report has revealed, shedding light on the continent’s heavy reliance on foreign agricultural products despite its vast agricultural potential. The report, conducted by African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), underscores the paradox of Africa's immense agricultural resources and untapped arable land, which could make the continent self-sufficient in food production. However, challenges such as insufficient infrastructure, low productivity, and limited investment in the sector have hindered its progress.
We know that exhibitors coming to Food & Beverage West
Africa will see the desire for growth and the excitement and enthusiasm the
region has for building business partnerships in the food and beverage sector.
We would like to thank you all – exhibitors,
partners, clients, and visitors – for your support and enthusiasm for Food
& Beverage West Africa throughout the 2024 period, and for contributing
towards the exhibition’s success.
Wishing you all the very best for your continued success in
the coming year
