Organisers of FAB West Africa Call for Government Support to Grow Local Businesses
Organisers and promoters of the annual Food & Beverage (FAB) West Africa exhibition—Trade Show Organisers Nigeria Limited—have urged government backing to help local business operators expand their reach and impact.
Brad Smith, Exhibition Manager of FAB West Africa, made the appeal during the recently concluded three-day event held at the Landmark Events Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos. Smith emphasized that the event’s primary purpose is to uplift Nigerian enterprises and introduce innovative products, especially those cherished by Nigerians in the diaspora.
“We’d love to explore collaborative initiatives with the government—especially those that significantly support local businesses and manufacturers,” Smith stated. “We’re eager to open that dialogue and work together.”
This year’s exhibition showcased 350 exhibitors representing over 50 countries and attracted more than 6,000 attendees from across West Africa. While the organisers have already received some form of governmental assistance, Smith noted that more robust support would help further stimulate economic growth
“The support we’ve gotten is encouraging, but we need even more. Stronger backing from government would go a long way in boosting our local economy,” he added.
This years event was the largest to date with record numbers of attendees and exhibitors.
